A Content is the pages and graphics that makes your information viewable for the viewers, like HTML, databases, gif, and jpeg files.
Q I don't have a clue what all those are, but I / We want a website, what do we do now?
A WhitleyNet has a list of suggested webmasters/designers that we can point in your direction to help you build your site. We also have information on our site that can possibly help you design your site.
  Q Will they charge money?
A Most will. This is where our grant funds come into play. Fill a grant application out, if approved by our board of directors, the grant funds can be used to pay for most or all of your site.
Q Can I use the grant money to purchase software or something like that for building the site?
A Yes you can. You must however build the site first, then after you place it on our servers, and we verify it's existence, you may submit your grant application with a receipt for the products you wish to cover.

3. Your content needs an Internet address

Q What will the website address or URL be?
A You have a couple of choices when it comes to this point. There are two main types of Internet website addresses. A primary address is like "www.yoursite.com", and a secondary address is like "yoursite.whitleynet.org" or "www.yoursite.whitleynet.org".
Q How do I get a primary address like that?
A You will need to "purchase" a website name through a Internic Authorized registrar. Some of these are Network Solutions, Register.com, GoDaddy.com, Register Fly.com. There are many different places that do name registrations now, and they vary in price.
Q What do I do after I purchase the name?
A Contact webmaster@whitleynet.org  and we'll guide you from there
Q What if we just want a secondary address? Do this cost anything?
A Secondary address's cost nothing, and is actually the only way we host our organization sites now. It takes a little more work on our site, but it gives your site a more professional touch. When your contacting our system administrator, this is one of the first questions that will be asked. You just need to decide upon a name for your site. : )
